Plan Co-ordination Division

     This Division co-ordinates all the activities connected with the techanical functions of State Planning Board.

     The Division is mainly entrusted with the following functions.

•    Evolve strategies for the overall economic development of the State in true with national priorities and programmes in consultation with the subject divisions.



•     Assist to set up various committies to recommended and cite development projects/schemes to be implemented under various development sectors during different plan periods.
  
  
•    Prepare fixutres and conduct meetings of Secretaries concerned and Heads of the Department on formulation and Implementation of development plans of the State.



•     Co-ordinate the finalisation of Annual as well as Five Year Plan proposals to be submitted to the Planning Commission.



•     Pepare background papers and notes on Agenda items for discussuion in the Planning Board meetings..



•    Consoldiate the budget documents related to plan programms.



•     Co-ordinate the publication of the "Ecnomic Review" one of the budget documents for presentation in Legislative Assembly.

( Economic Review, a vignette of Kerala economy is published every year by the State Planning Board. Besides its consolidation, the division itself is preparing three important chapters for inclusion in the 'Review' - General Review, Prices, Cost of Living and Wages, and Institutional and Bank Finance).

•     Provide details regarding development plans for prepartaion of answers to the questions of legislators.


•     Gather and covey information on State Plans to the Planning Commision.


•     Prepare background papers and notes for discussion between Chief Minister and Deputy Chairperson of Planning Commission.


•     Prepare notes for NDC meetings.


•     Devlope plan outlay earmarked for different tiers of local bodies on the basis of approved criteria in association with the Decentralised Planning Division.
