SWOT ANALYSIS OF VSS
STRENGTH1. The bottom up approach of the PFM giving freedom of choice to the forest dependent community for plantation activities and decision making in natural resource management and development activities.
2. Helped to create a sense of belonging of forest property as their own and to create organized group to protect and manage forest.
3. Empowerment of the community through self-help group activities.
4. Venue for settling local disputes.
5. Curb exploitation of the community by middlemen are any other stakeholders, by seeking legal aid.
6. Conservation policies programmes and guidelines give importance to gender equity, by providing adequate and equal representation of women.
7. FDA helps in bridging the financial resource gap of poor and marginalised inhabitants of the forests.
